Pretty

(Kevin Gilbert, Brian MacLeod)

I mailed you a picture of myself along with this letter
Because I want you to tell me if you think I’m pretty
I really need to know because I lack confidence
And if an impartial party like you tells me I'm attractive,
I'll feel better about myself
So... do ya..... think.... I'm pretty?

If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself

When I was in the sixth grade
This girl named Darcy used to sit in front of me in Humanities
And I used to stare at the back of her head and think
If she thought I was pretty then I’d be really happy because
Because I would be... you know... she knew everything...

If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself

So I asked her and she said to me
She said “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
But ugly is there for everyone to see..”
And then she took me to the lunch cafeteria
And she got me a paper bag to put over my head
And she put the bag on my head
And then danced around and laughed...

If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
If you don’t think I'm pretty I'm gonna kill myself
